Tony was born in Hong Kong. He came to the United States in 1994 to pursue his bachelor in electrical engineering (E.E.) at the University of Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude and continued his graduate studies in E.E. His passion was in system theory and was later fascinated by operation research. He then decided to pursue a dual-degree in electrical and industrial engineering.
Tony finished his dual-degree in 1999 and wanted to see the world in a non-engineering perspective. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers and became a management consultant. He worked on various engagements, both local and international, related to e-procurement system implementation. He gained tremendous experience in enterprise systems and picked up Java through the projects.
In 2001, he decided to return to University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to pursue his MBA. He got hired by the University full-time as an application developer supporting Wolverine Access while, at the same time, being a hard-working MBA student. He was later involved in an electronic human-subject research application administration system project and began his career in healthcare informatics.
Tony is now a senior programmer/analyst at the University of Michigan Medical School Information Services. He has just finished his MBA with distinction.
